Cracking Chalk Paint | Maine Country Home

Last year I found a lot of inspiration in John Terry Woods books on Farmhouse Style. One picture stayed in my head for a long long time. I just loved this yellow cupboard.

yellow dry sink

When I finally found a place for this dry sink, I knew it was time to see how to turn inspiration into reality.

For this piece, we used Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, a mix of Pure White and Arles, to make a creamy butter yellow.

Overall I wanted the  piece to have texture. So, my first step was to paint Easy Crackle by Artisan Enhancements over the entire piece. Once that was dry I then put a coat of my mixed Chalk Paint®, and then finished with Clear Wax. It was easy, it was fun, and the Easy Crackle adds and instant aged effect that is perfect for primitive pieces.
