Efex Class | Maine Country Home

We held our first Efex Mouldings class a few weeks ago. We had a lovely group of ladies gluing latex bits on everything! There isn’t anything you can’t put these bendable embellishments on. Check out some of their projects:

Frames, boxes, and pottery…oh my! C15 corners on the frame, CC3 octopus and T70 beaded trim on the box, as well as the little pot.

More coastal goodies on these stone pots. Another CC3 octopus, and a CC1 lobster on the other. Waiting for the contact cement to dry on the surface and the Efex before they can be pressed together!

CC 6 stars will make this boring frame something special.

Sometimes all you need is a shell. CC13 is the perfect size for this shelf.

Add a little T42 trim around the front lip and you’ve got a really stunning and special piece!

I tried my hand with layering these SW2 swags over each other. It really makes a nice, authentic statement with the T58 trim above.

This cute little frame got a makeover with T70 bead trim (a crowd favorite) set into the groove. It’s easy to mitre the corners with scissors, giving the impression this trim has always been there! Old Ochre Chalk Paint gives the vintage frames an updated look.

The frame and pot look lovely with Old Violet Chalk Paint and Copper Gilding Wax. Dry brushing, or adding Gilding Wax are great ways to bring out the details of the Efex.

I love the way these came out. Old Ochre with Coco dry brushed over to bring out the details and make them pop.

This box is really the show stopper! That’s 3, count ’em 3, colors of gilding wax on that octopus to give lots of character and dimension. Classic, Florentine, and Copper all layered over each other, with just Classic on the beaded trim. Definitely going to be stealing this idea for a piece of furniture coming up soon!
