Autumn in coastal Maine is a magical time of the year. Maple trees turn scarlet and seem to whisper to abundant blue herons.

At sunset the colors fade into the cove a quilt of soft light. I just love the light at this time of year.

Exterior fall decorations are eco friendly and easy. They are a constant reminder of the harvest. Hay, pumpkins, mums, and a stick wreath mix easily together.

The burning bushes that we planted this spring have become our home’s main decoration.

The last of the hydrangeas fade with the light, but still add a glimmer of color.

On the front porch the deacon’s bench is painted in Primer Red Chalk Paint®. It is a color made for fall, and shows off the pumpkins and flowers.
