Their web site reads “Salt Water Farm at Union Hall is an expression of our affection for Maine.” That sounds a lot like what we believe at Maine Country Home.
Salt Water Farm on the harbor in Rockport Maine calls it’s self is a café and market. But… from our experience it’s a lot more than just a café. It is one of the best, restaurants in the state!
They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the meals begin with fresh produce sourced from local farms including the award-winning Salt Water Farm in Lincolnville Maine. At the farm they also have a vast array cooking classes that look wonderful.
As their web site says “OUR MENUS ARE INSPIRED BY THE PLACE IN WHICH WE LIVE.
Inside the cafe is also a market that provides a selection of wonderful items that everyone would want for their home. Products primarily from Maine include things like this wonderful woolen blanket from The Maine Blanket which is now on my personal Christmas list. and cookbooks.
They also carry basic staples like good oils, vinegar, canned tomatoes, and salted fish. They have wheels of cheese and charcuterie. Market items are always changing reflecting the seasons.
The communal tables, set up an inviting atmosphere reminding you of a family farm-house that is simply irresistible, be it on a hot summer night, or a snowy winter eve.
Salt Water Farm at Union Hall is Rockport is a must visit for both locals and guest.
