Just thought it would be fun tho share the before and after on this small table. The before was a sad little table found at a discovery auction. Discovery auctions are great. they tend to be hard to sort through so you don’t always see the flaws. On the other hand, you can find good bargins if you have something in mind to begin with.
I have a note book of ideas so when ever I go to an auction I have a list of what I want. It serves to great purposes. The first is it keeps you looking for the things you love and second, it keeps you out of buying to many things you just don’t know what to do with. ( Notice the to many thought there).
This little table need a little TLC and had a very sad top to it. There is a small little knot hole in the top, which I have left. But, it was a real antique. Just not one that had been treasured for its life.
I had already decided that I wanted to use Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan in a blue and white theme, so this little guy seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
After very light sanding, I painted this table top with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™, Napolian Blue, and the base in Pure White. There is slight distressing on both the base and table. The top is then waxed in clear wax followed by the dark wax and buffed. The base is just clear was.
Perfect for all different areas of the home! It is shown here as an entry way table, but could work well in a bed room or a breakfast room.
