Pottery Barn inspiration - a plain dresser goes from drab to fab

Pottery Barn inspiration

Last year I spied a great black dresser in a Pottery Barn catalog. It was black with linen drawers, very striking with just the perfect amount of masculine and feminine features. The black tone was set off nicely against the softer linen. It had to be recreated! Grabbing some linen and decoupage I started to create this easy Pottery Barn hack.

The current PB catalog only has this photo of a chest in linen and black, but you get the idea.

We used a high quality cotton linen, and the Annie Sloan Decoupage to attach it to the drawers. Kristy paid every attention to detail in the perfect corners, her eye for detail puts us to shame!

The base was then painted in two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Graphite, and finished with Annie Sloan Clear Wax. If you’re looking for a more modern black you can always use Dark Wax over Graphite.

Voila! Another fast and fun project inspired by Pottery Barn. Looking forward to their next catalog already!
