Welcome to November | Maine Country Home

November. Frost is here and snow will soon follow. Stores are all ready full of Christmas decor, even though I prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving.

We have lots of exciting things planned for this month. We are busy adding frequently asked questions pages to our website. But nothing can substitute for a workshop where you get to use the paint hands on. Check out our new workshops before the holidays. They are a fun way to get ready for some quick and simple holiday decoration.

Speaking of hands on, if you get a chance on Thursdays stop by and meet Samantha. Every Thursday she runs our paint bar! Come test drive some paint, there is always some open.

Simplicity is our buzz word for the month, and when you see our new book review of the month you will understand why. Can you guess the book from this picture?

Thanksgiving is my favorite big holiday. It’s the time for family, friends, and food, and without the commercial steroids that surround Christmas. This year, pumpkins and burlap fill the decorating palate.

Simple sweet berry or stick wreaths are lasting decorations will take us through the month. Or simply spice up your home with the scents of apple cider spice and the warmth of the fireplace. Even though Halloween is over we will still have some  painted pumpkins in our November decor. There is no easier way to change up a room than changing out the small occasional tables.

Christmas at The Maine Country Home

New Milk Paint colors will be arriving shortly. Curio and Trophy are my personal favorites. We will have some new graphic based linen in the store before Thanksgiving for your special turkey day table.

We also have a few wonderful pieces in progress that will be ready our Christmas open house the day after Thanksgiving. So don’t forget to save the date.

Stay current with all our projects at MCH by joining us on our blog, Facebook, and Twitter. Hope to see you soon.
